Operation Vintage Pride set for second annual event

Winter is around the corner, and that will be evident this weekend at the Mower County Fairgrounds — in an old-school way, that is.

The second annual Operation Vintage Pride snowmobile event will be held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mower County Fairgrounds. Admission is $5 per person, $20 for a swap site and $10 per sled entered in the drag race.

Jake Weaver, who is in charge of the race, said last year’s Operation Vintage Pride drew about 70 vintage sleds and about 500 people through the gate for the entire day.

Once again, proceeds from the event will go toward compiling care packages for military troops. National Guards will also be on hand to provide information and fun with their inflatable bounce house.
