Firefighters control grass fire

A grass fire broke out on the hillside of I-90 just east of the Hormel Institute exit around 4 p.m. Monday. Fire Chief Mickey Healey said it started near the bike path and spanned the hill alongside the interstate. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in a matter of minutes. The cause is unknown, but this winter's dry, snow-less conditions likely contributed. β€œIt is kind of odd to have a grass fire in the middle of January in the state of Minnesota,” Healey said. β€” Matt Peterson/
