A windy advantage

Area art enthusiasts made the best of living in windy Mower County Wednesday afternoon. With the help of glass artist Jeff Peterson, they learned how to make glass wind chimes during a class he held at the Mower County Senior Center.
Peterson, his wife, Jane, and their granddaughter have been making glass wind chimes from their home for two years, and now they take them to the farmers’ market each week. They will continue to take them to the Oak Park Mall throughout the fall.
Sara Schafer, Senior Center director, discovered the glass art at the market and decided to coordinate the class at the Senior Center. Wednesday afternoon, locals learned how easy it is to make art out of glass with a few-step process.
