Galyn A. Dahl, 62, of Austin, Minnesota, died at his home on Monday, May 16, 2016.

Galyn was born on Aug. 12, 1953, in Austin, Minnesota, to Arthur and Muriel (Peterson) Dahl. He graduated from Austin High School in 1971 and then attended Mankato Sate University before moving to Las Vegas to attend school to be a Black Jack Dealer. Galyn worked at several different casinos in Las Vegas before moving back to Austin due to health concerns.
While growing up, Galyn spent much of his free time playing baseball at Northwest Park in Austin. An avid sports fan, he loved to watch the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings. He loved animals, especially his dog “Windy” who was his constant companion.
He was preceded in death by his father Arthur, his grandparents, and his significant other Judy Johnson Tabor.
Galyn is survived by his mother: Muriel Dahl, Austin, Minnesota; son: Zeke Dahl, Austin, Minnesota; sister: Mary Dahl & Joel Huinker, Austin, Minnesota; Judy’s children: Bobby and Misty and their children; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, May 27, 2016, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Reverend Paul Lutter officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
