The Forte Milers Barbershop Chorus will present “50 Years of Barbershop Harmony” at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Historic Paramount Theatre in Austin. The Chorus will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Chorus.
The Forte Milers Chorus was chartered as part of the Barbershop Harmony Society on April 30, 1966, in LeRoy, Minnesota. The Forte Milers will share memories of 50 years of providing four-part harmony to the region. Media personality Dan Conradt will emcee the show.
Also on stage for the party will be one of the top barbershop quartets in the Midwest, The St. Croix Crossing Quartet from the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin. Earlier this year, the quartet was a silver medalist in the 2016 Barbershop International Senior Quartet Contest in Reno, Nevada. This was the third time the quartet has medaled in the Barbershop Harmony Society Senior Quartet Contest. The group pulls together almost 100 years of barbershop experience into a program of tight harmony and good comedy.
