Vets car show set for Saturday

Area veterans have a classic event to look forward to this weekend.

The Veterans Memorial Car Show will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Lafayette Park in Austin.
Highlights include the No. 8 chassis owned by Dale Earnhardt, a silent auction, live music, children’s games provided by the National Guard, awards for the top 25 cars and more.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. All proceeds will go to the Austin Area Foundation.
