Dorothy M. Boysen, 78, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at her home in Austin. She was born Aug. 5, 1936, in rural Austin, the daughter of Howard and Merle (Anderson) Boysen.
She was a lifelong resident of Austin where she worked as a secretary at Hormel Foods for over forty years. Dorothy loved her job and enjoyed spending time with her dogs and gardening. She was an active member of Crane Community Chapel.
Survivors include five brothers and sisters: Evelyn (Arnie) Hertle, and Harold (Betty) Boysen all of Rochester, Darlene Legred of Bricelyn, Marlene Shafer of Kasson, and Robert (Mary) Boysen of Austin; sister-in-law, LaVonne Boysen of Dodge Center; many nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers: Kenny and Eugene.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Crane Community Chapel with Pastor Dale Christiansen officiating. Interment will follow the service in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Crane Community Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Crane Community Chapel.
