Mary Jean (Grobner) Dahn, 57, of Austin, Minn., died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at her home in Austin after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 24, 1956, in Owatonna, Minn., the daughter of Clifford and Jeanette (Ditlevson) Grobner. She graduated Owatonna High School in 1974. Mary went to work for Josten’s. She married David Donahue in Owatonna and they later divorced. She worked at SPX for a short time then Truth Hardware for more than 17 years. During that time, she married Kent Boxrucker and they later divorced. She then worked for Northern Precision Machine Tool Sales and owned and operated AB Taxi in Austin for four years. She married Jeff Dahn on Nov. 8, 2001, and they made their home in Austin. Mary currently worked for Dagry Tool until her illness.
Mary enjoyed crafts and sewing. She also enjoyed the outdoors and liked to hunt and fish.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Dahn of Austin; children, Matt (and April) Grobner of Owatonna; Andrea J. Boxrucker of Owatonna; and Brian (and Danielle) Boxrucker of Plymouth, Minn,; four grandchildren, Erik, Dylan, Tyler, and Kya; mother, Jeanette Grobner of Owatonna; brother, Roger (and Janet) Grobner of Owatonna; sister, Diane Choukalas of Maple Grove, Minn.; nieces and nephews, Brad, Stephanie, Christopher, and Steven; parents-in-law, Marvin and Sharon Dahn of Fertile, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Jim (and Jennifer) Dahn of Newark, N.J.; and Mike Dahn of Fertile.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Grobner.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, and at St. John Lutheran Church 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
