Margaret M. Breitbarth, 84, of Spring Valley, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at the Spring Valley Care Center in Spring Valley, Minnesota.

Margaret Marie Ochse was born July 28, 1931, to William and Carrie (Ryks) Ochse in Dexter, Minnesota. Margaret was united in marriage to Lester Rudlong Nov. 18, 1950, and raised two children on a farm north of Grand Meadow, Minnesota. They later divorced. Margaret married Alvin Wiersma December of 1979. He died in 1989. In December of 1993, Margaret married Wilfred Breitbarth and he died in 2008.

Margaret worked at Ben Franklin Store in Spring Valley and then Ben Wright Produce in Grand Meadow. She then worked at Textile Care in Rochester, Minnesota, until retirement. In 1994, Margaret and Wilfred bought the Port (Bar and Grill) in Elkton, Minnesota, where they both enjoyed cooking and entertaining for many people. They later sold the Port and retired in Elkton, Minnesota.

In March 2008, Margaret moved into the Evergreens Senior Living in Spring Valley and later moved to the Spring Valley Care Center in March 2014. Margaret was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Spring Valley. She enjoyed staying at the trailer at the lake in Waterville, Minnesota, and also enjoyed entertaining people, cooking, and sewing.

Margaret is survived by two children, Janice (Rick) Christianson of Spring Valley, Minnesota, and Leslie Rudlong; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Herb) Daleske of Hayfield, Minnesota; nieces, Karla (Jim) Schultz of New Prague, Minnesota, and Heidi (Chris) Tallas of Plano, Texas; nephew, Brian Daleske of Norwalk, Iowa; many great-nieces and -nephews; nine step-children; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Carrie; and two brothers.

Funeral services for Margaret Breitbarth will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, Minnesota, with Pastor Jim Scaife officiating. Burial will take place in the Spring Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Hindt Funeral Home of Spring Valley, Minnesota, is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials to Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Spring Valley, Minnesota.
