Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

So many times our employees go out and about within the community and are hearing from Austin residents regarding something they are concerned with in Austin.

It’s great to hear from these people, but we would also like to remind our readers that we want you to take an active part by submitting letters to the editor.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to voice your concerns or to even laud those who have done great things within our community.

A community is more than it’s separate parts and for that community to be healthy it requires active participation from its people. Our pages are the perfect forum for these letters.

As is our policy, we will be reaching out to letter writers to make sure your name isn’t being used with another’s opinion. Please keep letters to 500 words or less.

We also do have to mention a change in policy in preparation for the upcoming election year. Any letters that support or go against a candidate or ballot issue will be charged $15 for a local letter and $35 outside of our coverage area. For more on this policy, visit: www.austindailyherald.com/2020/05/paid-letter-policy-to-be-implemented-next-week/

We look forward to hearing from our readers who are determined to make their voices heard.
