Mower County COVID Cases jump by 4

After over a week of sitting at 28 cases of COVID-19 in Mower County, the Minnesota Department of Health reported a jump of four cases in the county Monday, bringing the total to 32.

Meanwhile, in the state of Minnesota, the number of cases rose by 571 Monday, bringing the total to 7,234. There have been 428 deaths with a large majority of those deaths centering among those living in long-term care or assisted living facilitates.

As of Monday, 396 people are hospitalized with 166 needing ICU care.

Of the surrounding counties sharing a border with Mower, Olmsted has a reported 305 cases with eight deaths. Freeborn has 36, Dodge 21, Fillmore 13 (one death) and Steele has 24 cases.

Nationwide there have been over 1.1 million cases of COVID-19 as of Sunday and 65,735 deaths.
