A weekend system is bringing with it a mix of sloppy conditions, including a possible dose of freezing rain.

The system will begin affecting the area Friday after midnight with a possible accumulation of a half inch of snow. The snow will possibly mix with sleet and then rain as temperatures climb to highs in the 40s through the day Saturday.

Snow and sleet accumulation could be a half an inch, according to National Weather Service reports.

Rain will continue through the day Saturday into Sunday with a possible change-over to freezing rain and then snow later into Sunday night, when chances begin dropping.

This weekend’s weather is the bottom edge of a larger system that will mostly be moving into western and northern Minnesota.
