June Simonson, 86, passed away on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester, Minnesota.

June was born on July 10, 1933, the daughter of Cecil and Letha (Waddill) Morehead in Chicago, Illinois. June grew up in Grayslake, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Allen Simonson on June 23, 1951, in Grayslake. She worked for International Transport in Rochester for 12 years.

June enjoyed fishing, camping, crafts, and was active at the Evanger Lutheran Church and the Hayfield Legion Auxiliary.

June is survived by her children, Michael (Patty) Simonson, Spring Valley, Minnesota, Cathy (Henry) Hoyt, Prescott, Arizona, Linda Simonson, Rochester, Diane (Paul) Stanton, Hayfield, Minnesota, and Nancy (Richard) Beechum, Adel, Iowa; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen; daughter, Judith Ann Simonson; and brother, Wayne Morehead.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at Evanger Lutheran Church, 33554 660th Ave. in Sargeant, Minnesota, with the Rev. Dwight DoBell officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 Second Street NW in Hayfield, and will continue one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.
