Carol Lee Larick, of Brownsdale, Minnesota, passed away quietly on Sunday morning, Sept. 1, 2019.  She was 77 years old.

Carol was born Nov. 26, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, eventually settling in Brownsdale in 2003 with her husband Donald Larick.

A former Brownsdale city councilwoman, Carol was very active in community efforts and instrumental with the development of Legacy of Brownsdale Assisted Living Center, where she ultimately lived her final days in the company of family and a close circle of local Brownsdale friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Odean and Myrtle Malmen; husband, Donald Larick in January 2017; and just recently, her daughter, Denise Martinez of Houston, Texas, in August 2019.

She is survived by immediate family, daughter Lori and husband Greg Hughes of Houston, Texas; grandson, Bryan and wife Stephanie Martinez; and great-grandchildren, Braxton and Brooklyn Martinez of Pearland, Texas; granddaughter, Hayley and husband Andrew Bach of New Braunfels, Texas.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 114 W. Main St. in Brownsdale with lunch and refreshments immediately following. Carol will be laid to final rest in a private interment with her husband Donald later that day at Minnesota Veteran’s Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota.
