As we enter summer, letter carriers in Austin and Mower County want to look back and thank all who generously gave to our May food drive.

We collected over 21,000 lbs of much needed food for our local food shelves. Thank you KAAL-TV, John Wright and KAUS AM/FM, KTTC and the Austin Daily Herald for helping get the word out. Thanks to the UFCW for donating bags. Our gratitude goes to the volunteers from the Austin High Honor Society and Sharon Alms. We appreciate city churches for your assistance. Please help those organizations working to reduce food insecurity this Summer and we will be at it again next year, the second Saturday in May, to help provide food for those in our area who need it.
