Merlyn Robert Duenow, 91, of Montgomery, Minnesota, died on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Traditions in Montgomery.

Merlyn was born on Feb. 23, 1928, in Worth County, Iowa, to Carl August and Edna Susan (Koster) Duenow. He graduated in St. Ansgar, Iowa. IN 1946, Merlyn was united in marriage to Luanna Margaret Moen in St. Ansgar. Meryln worked as a line worker for Interstate Power/ Alliant Energy. Merlyn sang in a barbershop quartet and in church choir. He enjoyed bowling, playing pool, travelling, camping, fishing and spending time with family.

Merlyn is survived by children, Thomas (Judy) Duenow of Elk River, Minnesota, Mark (Cindy) Duenow of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bradley (Sheila) Duenow of Eagan, Minnesota, and Susan (Kim) Schumann of Apple Valley, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Duenow of Rosemount, Minnesota; grandchildren, Jen (Paul) Hanson, Amber (Joe) Kunz, Marty (MacKenzie) Duenow, Lucas Duenow, Becky Duenow, Nathan (Erin) Schumann, Josh (Ashlee) Duenow, Mandy Duenow (Jeremy) Johnson, Julia Huffman and Denise Boss-Shaunessy; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Paul Hanson Jr.,  Jacob Marcy, Kendall Marcy, Taylor Kunz, Aubrey, Riley and Leighton Duenow, London, Ayreland Duenow, and Robby and Jess Johnson; and siblings, Kenneth Duenow of St. Ansgar and Margaret Runtsch of Rochester, Minnesota. Merlyn was preceded in death by his wife, Luanna; children, Jeffrey Duenow, Cindy Duenow-Palafox and Robert Duenow; and siblings, Wayne, Carl, John, Shirley and Eleanor.
