Richard “Rick” Keller, 67, of Rockford, Illinois, was called home to his heavenly father on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017.

He was born on July 1, 1950, in Austin, Minnesota, the son of Lynn and Eileen (Beck) Keller. Rick served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Lemoore Naval Base in Lemoore, California, as well as in the Philippines. He married Rebecca “Becky” Brown on Aug. 14, 1971, and made a home in Rockford. He retired from Springfield Electric in 2012. He loved the outdoors and was passionate about deer hunting and fishing and was a board member at the Plug and Pellet Sportsman Club. He was happiest when in the woods. He also took great joy in being with his family and friends and they will miss him terribly.

Rick will be missed by his wife, Becky; son, Mark (Angela) Keller; daughter, Tricia Deleon; grandchildren, Emma, Penelope and Lily Deleon, and Jason and Zoe Keller; siblings, Janice Kooy, Paulette (Dave) Johnson, Roger (Kathy) Keller, June (Jeff) Green, Lori Bendickson; and siblings-in-law, Charles (Margaret) Brown and Anita Jaeger; as well as countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will beat 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private. Express online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
