Karen Ruth Tucker, 74, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, Nov. 17,2017, at Fieldcrest Care Center in Hayfield, Minnesota. Karen was born Oct. 9, 1943, in Hayfield, to Paul and Ruth (Beck) Tucker. She graduated from Hayfield High School in 1961 and she worked in the Grocery Products Accounting Department at Hormel Foods until her retirement. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Austin.

Karen loved to do crossword puzzles and before her arthritis got so bad, she loved to knit, cross-stitch, do ceramics and up until her death, she was an ace Scrabble player with her friend, Karen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ruth Tucker; brothers, Ronnie Tucker and Jerry Tucker; and brothers-in-law, Dick Chapman and Jack Brennan.

Karen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Trey and Amy Tucker, Hayfield; grandson, Samuel Tucker; brothers, Glenn Tucker, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Bill Tucker, Two Harbors, Minnesota, and David (Susie) Tucker, Austin; sisters, Pearl Brennan, Hayfield, Helen Chapman, Hayfield, Marlys (Wayne) Harvey, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, and Pat (Bob) Carlin, Mounds View, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at Fieldcrest for the care and friendship they gave Karen and her entire family.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Tamke officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Tuesday.
