MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis investigators say the cause of a fire that killed three young children has not been determined.

The Minneapolis Fire Department said in a statement Wednesday that while the cause cannot be proven, the fatal fire remains under investigation.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet identified the young victims, but the Minneapolis fire chief says all three were under seven years old.

Investigators say the fire last Saturday is believed to have started in the kitchen area.

A memorial service is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Family Church in Robbinsdale.
