Austin Packaging donates nearly $5K

Another company in Austin has presented a check toward United Way of Mower County’s annual campaign.

Austin Packaging Company completed its 2012 fundraising campaign last week, and its employees presented the United Way with a $4,993 check.

“It’s great to see Mower County businesses big and small support the United Way,” said Mandi Lighthizer-Schmidt, UW Mower County executive director. “Austin Packaging has always been a community-focused company, and we greatly appreciate their efforts and donations to the United Way of Mower County.”

United Way of Mower County is in the midst of its annual fundraising campaign. Last year it raised more than $1.03 million. The 2012 goal is $1.10 million. Several weeks ago, Hormel Foods Corp. Austin plant employees gave $142,262 to the campaign, and employees at Quality Pork Producers Inc. raised $137, 774, as well.
