Victor C. Ellis, 93, formerly of Austin, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Madonna Towers in Rochester.

Victor was born Oct. 1,1917, in Mankato, to Charles and Helgena (Nerby) Ellis. He married Fern Nelson and they later divorced. Victor served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was an employee of Hormel Foods for 36 years. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the VFW and American Legion (past commander), and Ramsey Golf Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling.

Survivors include his two children, Brian (Carol) Ellis of Coon Rapids, Susan (Doug) Walter of Austin; five grandchildren, Jennifer Ellis of Burnsville, Kristin (Alex) Roberson of Paradise, Calif., Casey (Jessica) Walter of Minneapolis, Joel (Bailey) Walter of Rochester, Cody Walter of Mankato; two great-grandchildren, Arianna and Gabriel.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 91.
