Melissa Callahan, daughter of Debra and Larry Callahan of Austin, and Jamie Oaks, son of Susan and William Oaks of Oshkosh, Wis., proudly announce their engagement.

Melissa is a 2000 Austin High School graduate, 2005 Lewis and Clark College graduate in biology and is a PhD. candidate at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.

Jamie is a 1999 graduate of Oshkosh West High School, a 2004 graduate of UW-Oshkosh in biology and is a PhD. candidate at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.

The couple will wed Aug. 13, 2011 in Lyle. They will reside in Lawrence, Kan.

Proud grandparents include Donna and the late Ben Winkels of Austin, Mary and the late Walt Callahan of Austin, the late Robert and Charlotte Oaks, the late Lori Mantz and the late Bud Much of Oshkosh, Wis.
