Cedar River Archery Club annual Kids Day Saturday

The Cedar River Archery Club will host its annual Kids Day event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, at its location at 54691 270th Street in Lansing.

This is a fun event that allows kids to come out and enjoy shooting archery and other outdoor activities.

The mission of the Cedar River Archery Club is to perpetuate, foster, and direct the practice of archery for youth and adults alike in the city of Austin and surrounding areas, in accordance with high spirit, safety, and the honorable tradition of this most ancient sport.

In the event of rain, the event will be held Sunday,  Aug. 4.

• Mamma Mia! 7 p.m. at the Frank W. Bridges Theatre, Riverland Community College. A Summerset Theatre production. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. • Senior Special – Fendrick and Peck, 10 a.m. at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center. Join Midwest folk musicians Fendrick and Peck who call themselves “budding naturalists.” With guitar and mandolin in hand, they will share heartfelt lyrics and fresh harmonies with fellow nature lovers. Free program for patrons 55 and older; includes coffee/tea and cookie as well as an optional opportunity to take a 45-60 minute guided tour of the Nature Center trails on one of their two access vehicles.
