The Austin Aspires Board of Directors announced Tuesday that the board had hired Jayne Gibson as the executive director for Austin Aspires, Inc.

Gibson will be a familiar face to many in Austin, having in the past served Austin Public Schools as a teacher, principal and director of educational services.

She most recently served as executive director of curriculum and instruction for Rochester Public Schools.

Gibson holds an educational specialist degree in educational administration and a master of science degree in educational leadership.

Chad Sayles, board president for Austin Aspires, Inc., said “Jayne has many years of diverse experience in a wide variety of education and leadership positions.

“As a long-time resident of Austin with a demonstrated commitment to education, she is perfectly positioned to lead the work of Austin Aspires.”

Austin Aspires was formed in 2014 to meet the goals of Vision 2020’s Education Leaders. It is a non-profit agency using collective impact to affect educational outcomes in the Austin community.
