The Brownsdale Study Club met on March 21 at the home of Shelley Vogel. The meeting was opened with the reading of the collect. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were given. Eleven members answered roll call to a musical instrument.

There was no old or new business. Announcements made were of the Brownsdale Firemen’s fish fry on Friday, March 23; also, a fish fry that evening at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield.

The blood bank will be at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale March 22. A new business came to Brownsdale, Bid USA Auctions (a consignment) by Jamie and Pixie Clement. They also sell antiques. The location is the former 3-H Lumber.

The meeting was adjourned. Beryl Sprung will host the April meeting.

Ida gave the outside reading, “Men … Your Wife is Worth It.” When men and women talk about relationships, men usually don’t talk and women like to talk too much. We are both wired differently. Thank God!

Beryl gave the main topic, “Home of the Brave.” It is known most famously for JFK’s grave site and the Tomb of the Unknowns, but there are countless untold stories worth discovering at Arlington and Gettysburg, an epic Civil War battle.

Shelley served a strawberry shortcake dessert.
