lionsAustin Morning Lions Club holiday giving

The Austin Morning Lions Club was very active during the recent holiday season giving to those in need. At their annual Christmas party, a hat-was-passed for individual member donations, with the collection bringing in $1,600 for the Salvation Army.  Members attending the party were asked to bring items for the food shelf, and 24 pounds of food was collected and donated. Arrangements were also made with the caterer for the extra food from the party to be donated in-kind to the Salvation Army, a $200 value.  During the year, the Club’s Tail Twister activities raised funds from which a $200 cash donation was given to the food shelf, and the Club’s popular Go-Kart Unit used fundraising from parade events to make an $800 donation to the Hy-Vee and Salvation Army’s Feed-A-Family Project.  Second Vice-President Tim Ross, President Mark Petrik, and Third Vice-President Shannon Ferch were present to make the donation.
