In the first crash, Elizabeth Ludvik, 52, and Robert Ludvik, 25, both of Austin were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries.

The report stated Elizabeth Ludvik was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger westbound on Interstate 90 near milepost 165 when she lost control of the pickup on an icy portion of the road, entered the median ditch and rolled. The pickup landed on its roof in the eastbound lanes.

She was ejected from the vehicle in the crash.

The crash was reported at 8:42 a.m. and brought traffic to a halt.

The second crash was reported about seven minutes later near the same milepost. It was classified as a rear-end collision involving five vehicles.

All of the vehicles were reportedly eastbound on Interstate 90.

According to the report, a 2011 Nissan Murano, driven by Mary Daly, 60, of Albert Lea; a 2012 Volvo semi, driven by Jeffrey Moldenhauer, 56, of Austin; a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country van, driven by Barbara Decker, 50, of Torrance, California; and a 2014 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Timothy Furland, 20, of Albert Lea were all stopped because of the earlier crash ahead of them.

The Murano was stopped in the left lane and the semi in the right lane next to the Murano. The Chrysler was ahead of the semi, and the Impala was ahead of the Chrysler.

A 2010 Chrysler Town & Country, driven by Anna Bormann, 73, of Emmetsburg, Iowa, reportedly failed to stop and rear ended the Murano, which in turn sideswiped the semi. The semi in turn rear ended the other Chrysler van, which ultimately rear-ended the Impala.

The report stated Anna Bormann and her passenger Donald Bormann, 67, of Emmetsburg, Iowa, were transported to the Albert Lea hospital.

Also injured were Decker and her passenger, Justin Miller of Faribault.
