Rose Creek, Adams, Mitchell County and Stacyville firefighters battled a shed fire in Adams for several hours Tuesday afternoon.

Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi said the property owner at 62223 130th Street called in the fire shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday once he heard from his sister that his shed was on fire.

No one was injured in the fire, but the shed was declared a total loss. The owner also lost a tractor and tractor equipment, a large square bailer, two wagon boxes, two side rakes, a 1977 Ford pickup, three sets of dual tractor tires and bedding hay, among other possessions.

Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

There’s no cost estimate on the damages yet, according to Amazi. Area firefighters investigated the scene Wednesday morning.
