Injury slows down Blue Devil women in loss to St. Cloud Tech.

The Riverland Community College women’s basketball team was shorthanded, but it was able to hang around with St. Cloud Tech. (10-3 overall, 1-0 MCAC South) for awhile in an 81-69 loss in Riverland Gym Wednesday.

The Blue Devils (3-11 overall, 0-1 MCAC South) were playing without their injured star point guard Mariah Carruth, but freshman Charity Ridlon, who is from Park Rapids, Minn., picked up the slack by scoring 27 points, while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out three assists.

RCC pulled to within 55-52 after Eryn Eilertson hit a 3-pointer and the Blue Devils were within 66-59 late in the game after Lissa Warpula hit a 3-pointer.
