On Sept. 12, the Red Cedar Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Austin, was honored to present 10 tactile USA Flags with The Pledge of Allegiance in Braille, to some of the Student Ambassadors at the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind (MSAB), Faribault.

Students received the tactile flags while class themes centered around the 200th year anniversary of the “Star Spangled Banner” and the history of the United States Flag. The Red Cedar congratulates the MSAB Student Ambassadors for shining a brilliant light on blindness as they go out into the community to spread awareness of blind/visual impairments and programs that are offered at MSAB. Nicole Zweber, Music Therapist at MSAB, said in the Spring of 2016, the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind will be celebrating 150 years of providing educational services to blind/visually impaired students who range in age from newborn to 21.
