Suspects with gun, knife rob liquor store

ALBERT LEA — Two armed people robbed Eastside Liquor in Albert Lea Friday night, before fleeing the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery took place at 9:58 p.m. at the liquor store, 2314 Hendrickson Road, according to an Albert Lea Police Department news release.

The suspects, whose identities were concealed, confronted the two clerks and a patron in the store. One person was armed with a knife and the other with a handgun.

The suspects reportedly took the money from the cash register and the victims’ cell phones, the release stated.

A 22-year-old male patron was also assaulted by one of the suspects and was treated at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

The Albert Lea Police Department is asking anyone who may have been in the Walmart area around 10 p.m. Friday who may have information regarding the robbery to call police at 507-377-5780.

As of press time, no arrests had been made.
