Sue and Don Schwegel of St. Joseph, Minn. announce the engagement of their daughter Jessica Schwegel to Joshua Akkerman, son of Rhonda and Jay Akkerman of Rose Creek, Minn.

Schwegel graduated from Apollo High School in St. Cloud, Minn. in 2009, and is still attending college. She is currently employed at Essentia Health Systems in Duluth.

Akkerman is a 2007 graduate of Austin High School and 2011 graduated of St. Cloud State University with a degree in Mass Media Communications. He currently is employed at KBJR TV-Northland News Center in Duluth.

The brides’ grandmother is Ann Jannsen of St. Cloud, Minn., and the grooms grandparents are Richard and Agatha Pedersen of Rose Creek and Dale and Illa Akkerman of Austin, Minn.

The couple plan to wed on April 26 in Duluth where they will make their residence following the wedding.
