(3) Austin’s Sela Fadness wins all-around state gymnastics title.

Sela Fadness had been stressing out about her beam routine for most of the season in 2013, and her nerves got even worse when she had a slight fall during team competition at state. But she stepped up her game in the individual state meet as she recovered from an early stumble to score a 9.575 in the event. Fadness won the Class ‘A’ state all around gymnastics title — the first individual in Austin history to do so — as she tallied a score of 38.575. She took first in the floor for the second-straight year, she took first in bars and she was second in the vault and beam.
