Robert ‘Bob’ H. Bray, 90

Robert “Bob” H. Bray, 90, died on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, during a brief stay at Golden Living Center East in Rochester.
Bob was born in Eyota, Minn., on Dec. 29, 1922, to John and Clara (Hanenberger) Bray. He graduated from Eyota High School. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Robert married Mina Gregory on October 5, 1941. Bob began his U.S. Post Office career as a letter carrier in Rochester and ended his 30 year career as Postmaster. He was a member of Evangel United Methodist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Eyota Post 551, and Rochester VFW Post 1215. Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing, oil painting, stamp collecting, and spending time at the lake home which he and his family enjoyed for many years.
Bob is survived by two children, Wes Bray, of Rochester, and Karen (Arlan) Baumler, of Zumbro Falls, Minn.; two sisters, Florence Maloney, of Austin, Minn., and Marlys Farris, of Austin; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Mina; his parents; and a brother, Beryl.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial with military honors by the Eyota Legion Post 551 will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
