Charles Earl Cannon, of Avon, Ill., Aug. 27, 2013, at Graham Hospital in Canton, Ill.
He was born Nov. 1, 1929, in Macomb, Ill., to William Cleo and Harriet Reed Cannon. He was married to Joyce A. Calloway on Aug. 21, 1965 in Perrysburg, Ind. Cannon graduated from Avon High School, Chillicothe Business College, in Chillicothe, Mo., and the University of Illinois after taking Agriculture short courses. He worked in Chicago for several years, returning to Avon in 1961. He also drove a school bus for the Avon School District and was a co-owner of Cannon Trophies, which was founded in 1987. He was a retired farmer.
Cannon was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Warren County Farm Bureau serving as a director for several years. He was a member of the Warren Henderson Diabetes Club, serving as its secretary: a member of the Avon Harmony Lodge, Mohammed Shrine; Scottish Rite Valley of Peoria; El Bon Shrine Club of Galesburg, Ill., having served as its president and member of Us Too, Galesburg Chapter.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of Avon, twin sons Dr. John Glen Cannon of Boise, Idaho; Dr. Jerry Earl (Macey) Cannon of Austin, Minn.; One daughter, Karen (Jon) Johnson of Canton, Ill.; Five grandchildren: Eric Johnson, Rebecca Ann Johnson, Cole Earl Cannon Carson Michael Cannon and Chloe Ann Cannon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A feneral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at the Berwick Baptist Church in Berwick, Ill., with the Revs. Tom Smith and Michael Barnhisel presiding. Masonic services will be held at 10:45 a.m. Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Berwick Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Roseville Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite and/or the Berwick Baptist Church. Corman Memorial Home, 230 W. Penn Roseville, IL, 61473, is handling the arrangements.
