Emily Nelson, daughter of Connie and Paul Nelson of Austin, and Christopher Beaver, son of Jean and Darrell Beaver of Hackensack, Minn., proudly announce their engagement. A wedding will be held July 20, 2013, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, after which the couple will make their home in Austin.

Emily is a 2003 Austin High School graduate, a 2007 Luther College graduate and a 2011 University of Northern Iowa graduate. She has a master’s degree in social work and is employed at Albert Lea Public Schools as a social worker.

Christopher is a 2001 Hayfield High School graduate and a 2012 Rochester Community and Technical College graduate with majors in criminal justice and law enforcement. He works at the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office as a detention deputy.
