Baseball: Blue Devils take three from Hibbing

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Riverland Community College baseball team saw its first action in two weeks as it beat Hibbing three times in Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. over the weekend.
The Blue Devils (11-3 overall) won two games on Friday by scores of 2-0 and 17-3 and they won 6-0 on Saturday.
RCC’s starting pitchers went a total of 16 innings and they allowed a combined six hits in a walk, while striking out 25 and allowing zero runs.
“We’ve still got a ways to go with our hitting, but our pitching has been tremendous and our defense has been really good,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said.
Hayfield grad Tyler Krekling went 5-for-9 with three RBIs, four runs, four stolen bases and three walks over the three games, Southland grad Chris May went 4-for-7 and Michael Knutson, who is from Jefferson, Wis., went 4-for-9 with four RBIs.
