Riverland men fall to RCTC

ROCHESTER — The Riverland men’s basketball team hung around for most of the game, but they lost 85-71 at Rochester Community and Technical College Saturday.
The Blue Devils (12-11 overall, 5-5 MCAC South) were within 48-46 with nine minutes left and they trailed by just six with five minutes left, but the Yellowjackets eventually pulled away.
“I was really happy with the way we played,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “If we play like this for the next four games, we’ll have some success.”
RCC is tied for third in the MCAC South and the top four teams advance to the state tournament.
