Funeral service for Maridee Moe, age 93, formerly of Emmons, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Emmons Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills, Iowa.

Maridee died Friday, March 11, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Maridee was born July 26, 1917, in Albert Lea, daughter of Oscar and Gena (Bagaason) Madson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and Brady & Rogers Beauty School in Minneapolis. She was united in marriage to Clarence “Sparky” Moe on Oct. 2, 1937, at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Maridee worked as a beautician in Bricelyn and owned a beauty shop in Lake Mills. The Moes owned the Ford garage in Emmons for many years. Maridee and Sparky spent many years wintering in Mesa, Ariz. She was a member of Emmons Lutheran Church where she had been active in several circles. Maridee enjoyed golfing, knitting, ceramics and oil painting.

Mourning her death are her daughters, Patty (Conrad) Cox, Boca Raton, Fla., and Connie (Pat) Huettl, North Mankato; grandchildren, Craig (Linda) Cox and Diane (Joel) Anderson of Colorado, Dan Moe of Arizona, Nicole and Ryan Huettl of Mankato; great-grandchildren Carl, Stuart and Lara Cox, Angela and Alex Palaniuk, Ashley and Cole Huettl, and Samantha and Billy Moe; great-great-granddaughter, Brealyn Huettl; and several cousins.

Maridee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sparky; and sons, Larry and David.
