Elizabeth L. “Betty Lou” Corcoran, 82, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at Our House Memory Care after a lengthy illness.

Elizabeth L. ‘Betty Lou’ Corcoran, 82

Elizabeth Louise Miller was born Feb. 3, 1934, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Gottlieb J. and Anna (Farkes) Miller. She was a 1952 graduate of Leroy High School. In April of 1955, Betty was married to Eugene Corcoran at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Leroy, Minnesota. To this union seven children were born. After many years, the couple divorced. Betty was a longtime member of St. Augustine Parish in Austin, and although she did not like fishing, bowling, golfing or swimming, she did like to read, sew, do crafts and tend to her rose bushes. Betty was an excellent cook. Her favorite pastime was having coffee with her family and friends.

Survivors include her seven children, Michael Corcoran of High Forest, Minnesota, Rhonda (Dean) Baldner of Austin, Minnesota, Lana Corcoran and Dennis Corcoran, both of Sheridan, Wyoming, Kellie (Dave) Shinkle of Grover, Wyoming, Lynne (Kellie) Corcoran-Zubke of Sargeant, Minnesota, Patrick Corcoran of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Henthorne of North St. Paul, Minnesota, and Sally (Bill) Regan of Owatonna, Minnesota.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Gottlieb and Anna Miller; her brothers, Richard Miller and Robert Miller; and her sisters, Rose Isferding and Sharon Brozik.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin with Father James Steffes officiating. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church, immediately preceding the service. Interment will be held privately at a later date. Memorials can be directed to recipient of donor’s choice. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
