Rosella D. Nash, 86

Rosella Doreen Nash, age 86, of Mapleview, Minnesota, passed away peacefully with family and her precious Kitty by her side on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at St. Mark’s Living in Austin, Minnesota. Rosella was born November 1, 1937, to Charles and Hazel (Wood) McAlister in Austin. She grew up in Mapleview and attended Austin Public Schools. Rosella married Walter Hall and had three children. They later divorced. She then met Kenneth Nash, who had 4 children from a previous marriage, and the two were married in 1963. They combined their two families and added two more children as well to become one big happy family. Over the years, Rosella worked many jobs starting with the Mapleview Drive Inn, Mower House Printing, Kmart, Cash Wise, and Hy-Vee. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Mapleview Women’s Club, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Throughout her life, Rosella found joy in various hobbies and activities, including oil painting, sewing, quilting, crocheting, cooking, and baking (you never had a bad meal from her). She also loved gardening, landscaping, and tending to her ponds. Rosella’s family was her heart and soul and she enjoyed spending time with them, playing yard games, board games, cards, dice and snuggling with her cherished grandchildren. Another one of her favorite pastimes was drinking coffee and hanging out with her many friends, both old and new. She was a loving caregiver to all and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Michael Hall, Joy (Ron) Louters, Gary (Jayne) Nash, Steven Hall, Randy Nash, Janny (Dennis) Harmer, and Jeanne (Brent) Crump; grandchildren, Thomas, Timothy, Travis, Wesley, Tyler, Matt, Brandon, April, Jordan, Janny Kay, Jessica, Erick, Emilee, Jeremy, Nicole, Patrick, Ashley, and Alison; 37 great grandchildren; daughter in law, Darlene Nash; sisters-in-law, Jeannine and Alida McAlister, Betty Kinney; her precious cat, Kitty and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hazel McAlister; her husband of 50 years, Kenneth; mother-in-law, Alice Nash; sons, Ricky and Scott Nash; daughter-in-law, Gail Nash; grandson, Dalton Hanson; siblings, Kenneth, Donald, Richard “Dicky”, Lawrence, and Raymond McAlister; sisters-in-law, Muriel and Delores McAlister and Charlotte “Dolly” Nash.
