Austin is welcoming one of its own home when when it hosts a CD release party Saturday night.

The VFW will host the Ugly Sweater Concert featuring Crazy Neighbors who are releasing their second CD, “Crazy Neighbors” and features Austin native Aaron Kaercher. The show will also feature the area bands Cosmic and Echo Messenger.

For Kaercher the release party is also a nice way to make it back to the area.

“We’ve had a couple [shows] so far,” Kaercher said. “I still have a lot of family and friends down there. It’s been a few years and it’s a good time to go back with the holidays.”

The band has been together since 2006, though they took a couple years off as Kaercher had to have a liver transplant. They started back up a couple years ago.

Kaercher describes the band’s sound as just plain fun.

“I would just say good, danceable music,” he said. “When we play, we try to bring songs people can dance to and have a good time.”

The album has 10 tracks with mostly upbeat, dancing music.

“Come on out,” Kaercher said. “We’re looking forward to seeing everybody down there. ”

Doors open at 7 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m.
