Senior center wrapping up six-month series

Published 10:01 am Sunday, October 25, 2015

This is the last in the six month series “Our Family Matters.”

Please join us for a very special presentation from Be Remembered. BeRemembered.com is a free website designed for two purposes. First for you to create a memorial for a loved one. This website will walk you through questions about your loved one and allow you to put pictures on it. You can send it out to friends and family for them to add their memories.

Secondly, at any point in your life you can start your own pages on the web site. You can have in writing how you want to be remembered. You can write letters to your children, grandchildren and other loved ones that get sent to them upon your passing. While you are living this is a private page only shared with those you choose to.

For more information on this and on how to start your own free page for you or a loved one please join us at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Danielle Knapp, a representative from Be Remembered will be joining us to walk you through the information and answer any questions you have about starting this cherished memory. Be remembered how you want to be.

We will also have our traditional door prize drawing: Lunch for two at The Old Mill. Please stop by or call to register for this very informative session: 507-433-2370 for Mower County Senior Center or 433-1817 for Mayer Funeral Home.

These programs are all free to attend. We ask that you sign up ahead of time for planning purposes.

 Halloween fun

Join us for the Halloween costume dinner, costumes are optional but there will be a prize for the best costume.

We will have a fun meal and photo ops starting at noon on Friday. Cost is $6.50. We will start the meal with ghouly appetizers then on to brains with eyeballs for the main course and finish the meal with worms in dirt or pumpkin tort. Hope to see you there.

We look forward to seeing you at our many programs at the Senior Center. Don’t forget our coffee shop where every day you can have homemade soup for $1 and a sandwich for 50 cents. Tuesday we are having chicken broccoli hotdish for only $2. You are always welcome at the center. See you here.
