Douglas ‘Doug’ Earl Marsden, 66

Douglas “Doug” Earl Marsden, 66, of Austin, Minnesota, died Sept. 11, 2015, at Hillcrest Care Center in Mankato.

Doug was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Nov. 12, 1948, to Charles and Verlette (Mork) Marsden. He grew up in Austin and after his schooling, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country in Vietnam for four years. After his military service, he worked as a meat cutter and moved to California. Doug then moved to Hawaii, Minneapolis, and then back to Austin.

Doug enjoyed traveling and fishing in Hawaii. He was a very caring and giving person who lived a simple life.

Doug is survived by his brother, Ronald Marsden of Austin; sister-in-law, Janet Marsden of Austin; nephew Michael Marsden of Lansing; great-nephew Allen Marsden of Austin; special cousin, Mona (Don) Rush of Austin; and several other cousins.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles Marsden.

Per Doug’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Burial will be private at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
