Barbara Ellen Yerhot, 85, of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.

Barb was born Feb. 20, 1930, in Austin to William and Gertrude Bitker. She graduated from Austin High School and lived her whole life in Austin.
On June 21, 1950, she married Ray Yerhot in Medford, Minnesota. She attended St. Augustine Catholic Church and was a member of St. Ann’s Unit. Barb frequently volunteered her services at the church.
Barb enjoyed playing cards with friends, sewing, and counted cross stitch. She and Ray had many good times at their cabin on Lake Tetonka in Waterville, Minnesota.
Being an only child, Barb went on to lovingly raise seven children.
Survivors include three daughters and four sons: Kathy (Duane) Johnson, Carmel, Indiana, Jane (Gary) Seegmiller, Stockholm, Wisconsin, Rick (Sherrie) Yerhot, Rochester, Minnesota, Becky (Paul) Huebner, St. Charles, Minnesota, Randy Yerhot, Austin, Minnesota, Todd Yerhot, Owatonna, Minnesota, Brad (Jennifer) Yerhot, Excelsior, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; special cousin, Elaine Naatz, Austin, Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Raymond Yerhot.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
