Blue Devils fall to Minnesota West in a sweep

The Riverland Community College volleyball team started off strong, but it cooled off as it lost to Minnesota West in three games in Riverland Gym Wednesday.

The Blue Devils dropped the match by scores of 26-24, 25-12, 25-16.
Although the last two games were lop-sided, RCC stayed close down the stretch. Haley Hopf, who is from Rutland, S.D., had a block kill to make it 23-23 and she hammered down a kill to make it 24-24, but that was not enough.
RCC trailed 5-0 to start the second game, but it led 5-3 to start the third game.
