Minnesota State Fair is almost here

On Aug. 26, we are offering a trip to the Minnesota State Fair.

This is one of the largest fairs in the Midwest and offers something for everyone. This will be senior day, with many activities directed for them. There will be food stands galore, with many new venues to visit.

We will depart at 7:30 a.m. and return about 6 p.m. This is open to the public. Join us on a deluxe motor coach.

Aug. 19 is our second Mystery Trip of 2014. This is one of our most popular trips. We will depart at 7:30 a.m. and return about 6 p.m. Wear summer comfortable clothes.

Coming up

•Sept. 6-11: Door County and Mackinac Island.

This extended trip will include several beautiful areas, including the cherry region of Michigan and the Cherry Republic. We will be riding the grand ferry, the SS Badger on Lake Michigan.

There will be a two-night stay on Mackinac Island where we will take in many sights.

Openings are available.

•Oct. 2: A narrated, four-hour cruise on the Mississippi River with Dixie Land music entertainering us. We will pass the lock and dam No. 1 and enjoy a buffet luncheon. Our Cruise ship will be Padelford Rivercruise Lines on Harriet Island in St. Paul.

•Oct. 15: “Hello Dolly,” at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater.

•Oct. 30-31: Opening night of “A Fireside Christmas” in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. We will meet the cast following the show. Day two will be our lunch stop at a Scandinavian farm with music, fun and a delicious home-cooked meal.

•Nov. 12-15: Annual Branson Christmas trip. The line-up this year includes Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Dublin’s Irish Tenors and the Celtic Ladies and much more.
