One of the Republicans vying for U.S. Sen. Al Franken’s seat is stopping in Austin later today.

Businessman Mike McFadden will be at the Tendermaid in Austin, 217 Fourth Ave. NE, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday for a meet and greet with delegates and voters.

Other leading contenders for the GOP nomination are St. Louis County Commissioner Chris Dahlberg and state Sen. Julianne Ortman. Republicans may not select a nominee until an August primary.
