Clinic to host meetings on health care changesPublished 10:39am Wednesday, October 16, 2013
Mayo Clinic Health System — Albert Lea and Austin will hold community health care forums Oct. 28 at Austin’s Paramount Theatre and Oct. 29 at Albert Lea’s Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. Both forums will begin at 5:30 p.m.
CEO Dr. Mark Ciota and Chief Administrative Officer Steve Waldhoff will discuss national health care changes, a new model of community care, and the medical centers’ long-term facility plans.
“Our leadership team wants to share with you what we can about the rapid changes we are experiencing in health care,” Ciota said in a press release. “Just as importantly, we want to hear from you with your concerns and questions. With the numerous challenges facing the health care industry, leaders across the country are redefining, realigning, and retooling organizations so they can meet the ongoing needs of patients. And that’s exactly what we have to do to in Albert Lea and Austin as well.”
A question and answer period will follow the presentation. Questions can be submitted online ahead of time by going tomayoclinichealthsystem.org, clicking on Albert Lea or Austin, and Classes and Events; people can also ask questions at the events.
The Paramount Theatre is located at 125 Fourth Ave. NE, Austin, and the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center is located at 147 N. Broadway Ave., Albert Lea.
