Memorial services for Allen W. Larson, 66, of Ellendale, will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Ellendale. The Rev. Randy Cirksena and the Rev. Lisa Dodd will officiate. Allen died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his home.

Allen Webster Larson was born on Dec. 16, 1946, the son of Alvin Laverne and Rosella Mae (Horning) Larson. Allen grew up in Ellendale and graduated from high school there. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy serving in Guam and Scotland. On Sept. 6, 1969, Allen was united in marriage to Rebecca Joy Crabtree at the United Methodist Church in Ellendale. He worked as a meat cutter, enjoyed fishing, walking, playing the banjo and doing yard work. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with his wife.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca; son, Keven (Kari) Larson; daughter, Sherri (Craig) Fritz; grandchildren, Sydney, Ava and Brody Larson and Olivia, Rhyan and Ruby Fritz; brothers, Mike (Cherri) Larson and Larry (Ginny) Larson; and sister-in-law Allie Larson.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Rosella Larson; brother, Dennis A. Larson; and father and mother-in-law C. Henry and Beulah Crabtree.
